No-clean flux is NOT compatible with most conformal coatings. It must be removed by use of specialized chemicals or adhesion can/will be significantly affected. Water-soluble flux is recommended for parts requiring conformal coat. Part should then be cleaned to meet IPC-A-610, class II, then kept clean until coating applied. PRS does have water washing and alcohol cleaning methods available for an additional charge.
Matte finish soldermask will enhance the adhesion of the coating to the board/assembly surface. Matte finish soldermask will also allow for better wetability during cleaning process, resulting in a cleaner surface. Plasma surface treatment is available for use with glossy soldermasks and non stick materials.
Silicone staking materials must be applied after coat when using coatings other than Silicone. |
